About Greg Schneiders
People ask me where I’m from and, although I was born in Detroit and raised in New York and Boston, I tend to say “Washington” because it feels like I’ve been here forever. I came to attend Georgetown University (which I did intermittently for 13 years, finally earning a degree in Philosophy), and then bought a couple restaurants on Capitol Hill and in Georgetown. When I sold both of them in 1975 I met, by chance, an obscure former peanut farmer and Governor of Georgia who became our 39th President and took me with him to the White House as Director of Communications. From there I went back to Capitol Hill as Communications Director for the Senate Democrats and, later, Press Secretary for Senator John Glenn. Having had enough of government, I launched my company, now called Prime Group, doing opinion research, branding, and public affairs. We’ve been fortunate to have lots of Fortune 500 companies as clients as well as enjoyable gigs with The U.S. State Department, Major League Baseball, and the PGA TOUR. I’ve taught political communications at Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and the University of Pennsylvania. Life is good for my wife, two sons and myself and better now that I can vent through the WWTTBlog.
